1968 Guazzoni Matta 50cc

The Guazzoni was a motorcycle company based in Milan from the 1935 to 1976.

Founded by Aldo Guazzoni (1908-1978), mechanic and milanese dealer, Guazzoni begins in 1935 with a 500cc motrcycle, that however has meager success. Subsequently they built three-wheelers. After the war becomes concessionary for Milan of the Movement Morini.

L' building activity takes again in the 1950 with a 250cc single-cylinder two times, built on commission from the Bologna FBM. L' following year comes supported a 150cc, always single-cylinder two times and built to Bologna. It "150", available in the versions Touring, Sport and Premium Sport, has good success, also in the contests: in the 1952 wins the class to 24 Hours of Warsage (town in the crowds of Liegi). From the movement winner in the Belgian marathon it it will be born Bol d' Or 175, whose name takes again that of the famous French competition of duration. The Bold will be shown an of the swiftest movement of its category, with 10.5 HP and 125-130 km/h.

In the 1953 comes presented it "Snout", a 150 two times that it is characterized from the engine with horizontal cylinder. Of the 1955 is instead a 200 single-cylinder SOHC. In the two-year period 1955-56 a Guazzoni 50cc completely careened conquest on the circuit of Monza 30 world record.

With the second half of the fifties the Guazzoni (like almost all the motorcycle houses Italians) enters in a deep crisis. To react, they proposals come you model of utilitarian mould and it it is diversified the production with engines for go-kart and outboard motorboat.

With an actual engine from a go-kart, the Milanese company would extract a 50cc that in the 1965 well equipet Crazy. With the Crazy one, provided of the first Italian engine to disk rotating, the Guazzoni picks a good success between the young, for its line from "small movement" and for its powerful engine, that in the version "Export" distributed 6 HP and pushed the means to 100 km/h. From the Crazy one l it will be been derived' following year a version from contest, nicknamed "Ingranaggino" (from the small gear of the leading transmission), with that a lot of pilots, among which the future champion of the world Pier White Paolo, honor will be done, above all in the competitions in ascent. In the 1967 to the Crazy road one will be supported it "Mattacross" from all-terrain vehicle. In the same area, l' following year, come presented them "Modernly" of 125cc and 150cc.

The Crazy renewed themselves in the 1969, with a new cylinder, the radial and new head superstructures. In the 1971 the Mattacross becomes "Special", with a new chassis. The following year presented the “RM72" from Regularity, with engines from 100cc and 125cc which both recieved chassis from that of the Mattacross Special.
