The Cagiva Freccia is a motorcycle road sports fairings emulated by Ducati Paso, with mixer, produced by Cagiva from 1987 to 1990 the only displacement 125 cc, this model was changing the prefix of the name every time you updated was: Freccia C9, Freccia C10R, Freccia C12R Arrow and C12SP.
For each model of the Arrow will have a normal version and a version SP, for competition Sport Production, not approved for use on road, all models also have the strange peculiarity of non-transparent fairing but painted with the colors of motion. The rival "historic" the arrow was on the market 's Aprilia AF1, but it was not even from under the Gilera SP.
Freccia C9
La Freccia C9 was produced for only one year, the 1987. It was a motorcycle road fairing much: not only do not see either the engine or the frame but also the tank was completely covered.
The frame is a bitrave steel tube rectangular frame with square tube integrated (in one piece), and swingarm is back with steel arms symmetrical rectangular, the forks are 35 mm with a stroke of 140 mm, while the media for semimanubri are screwed on the steering plate and shaped to cover the caps of the stems of the fork.
With a two-stroke engine completely changed compared to earlier and where it appears for the first time in a model system for road controlling exhaust, which is kind of a double valve operated mechanical CTS (Cagiva Tourque System ) and CPC (Cagiva Power Chamber) to (centrifugal switch), the adoption of a system of balance and use a Expansion very special addition to passing under the engine, typical for this type motion, ending in the codon, divided into two tubes (pins) that locks two muffler rather thin, tapered shape, which were housing the sides codon.
L ' brakes all'anteriore monodic set up a cast iron of the Brembo by 260 mm, protected by a wraparound front mudguard which left only half-discovered wheel while the rear set up a similar Brembo disc 240 mm. It was powerful enough to secure a narrow space, but not to the levels than the current 125 on the market as the myth. The change was a six-speed transmission, as all the current 125, with the difference that the first was very short, ideal for slopes and reduced engine power, but impractical for use on runway .
The tap of the gas was of the type with two positions (ON and OFF) in the alert led by the reserve, this type of faucet will be maintained on the following series.
La Freccia C9 was marketed in two different colors, one white and red, just like in the picture, the other white and blue (which replaced the red). The two-color staining will be used only on this model, the subsequent Cagiva choose the color monochrome.
Based on this model was created Moto Morini Dart 350/400.
Freccia C10R Freccia C10 & ANNIVERSARY
And the C10R, evolution of the previous model, was produced for one year: the 1988. What characterizes and distinguishes it from a different C9R is fairing with arrows and integrated rear-view mirrors, and the adoption of a new thermal with an exhaust valve improved, while remaining mechanic, also do not use more the CPC (Cagiva Power Chamber), and the choice of a classical Expansion ends at the side of the swingarm.
Arrow of C10R was introduced and a limited edition of only 500 copies, call ANNIVERSARY with a few improvements compared to the normal pattern: the first movement of the magazine change, the adoption of tire to the largest rear (130/70 17) , the electronic valve, which maintains the opening of the valve at 7250 rpm always like mechanical device, the update of the crankshaft and connecting rods, with the adoption of the new cylinder (800060433) which has the predisposition for the drive system of the mechanical valve, which is a simple drilling of the cylinder, making it usable on older models.
As for the carburetion of the bike, this was revised with the adoption of the float from 9.5 g instead of 11 g, the maximum flow of 140 instead of 135, while the remaining gas valve 50, the skewer the x29, the minimum flow of 40, l 'emulsified 272 DV, jet start from 65 and jet power of 50, while freshman from 5P006005 was further revised, with pin taper x36 , cast the minimum 45, maximum flow of 110, 274 Emulsified DV and jet power of 100, while the change was having the longest first gear.
This model was marketed in several colors, mainly red monochrome version, but so widespread were the black and yellow.
Freccia C12R
La Freccia C12R was produced in a single year: the 1989. It differs from the Arrow and C10R ANNIVERSARY mainly for the change to seven gears, the gear has been added for use by the SP model, is not much longer than the sixth, but to use models in road became necessary to shorten the reports of [ [Cambio (mechanical) | exchange]], unless you wanted to restrict travel to regional medium-low.
Other differences are in the fairing, which in addition to the colors and the words, to defer the adoption of a front fender decidedly smaller than the previous year and the difference is more important for the adoption of a front braking system with a disk increased and that the pilot requires less force on the lever.
As for the carburetion of the bike, this was revised with the adoption of a new version of the carburetor, with the adoption of the float from 6.5 g instead of 9.5 g, the gas valve 45 instead of 50, taper pin with X31 instead of the x36, the jet maximum 132 instead of 110, the emulsion EN 265 instead of 274 DV, jet power of 90 instead of 100, the minimum flow of 44 instead of 45.
The C12R was sold in various colors, mainly in red livery completely, just like the C10R, but also the very common black or white versions.
On the basis of this model to be created myth which will complement the rare Freccia C12 SP (Lucky Explorer) until it became hull will take finally the place.
Freccia C12 SP (Lucky Explorer)
La Freccia C12 SP (Lucky Explorer) produced a few copies, in the only year 1990, took the colors from the sample used to guide Villa dell 'Elefant in Dakar of'90, and was targeted in the competition category of Sports Production 125, even if approved for road use.
The motion, derived from the modelCagiva Freccia C12R, defers to the adoption of the one color Lucky Explorer and the adoption of a propeller SP, with a carburetor Dell'Orto VHSB 37 ED (becoming and remaining still 125 road with the biggest carburetor fitted) can make them reach 170 km / h, with a maximum power of over 30 CV.
This version represents the highest evolution of the Arrow, with the highest quality chassis and engine, reaching the highest power and best performance is that of recovery speed and acceleration.
Arrow FY
This arrow, produced only in 1991 is named "FY" which stands for "Final Year", because it represents the latest models of the Arrow which was sold until early 1993 that this version was produced in Taiwan to reduce costs and to provide a road sport, even if not the most competitive low cost.
With this version you are returned to a return to six-speed transmission and reuse the rims mounted on C9 and C10R.
