Alfa Romeo G1 is sometimes considered to be first Alfa Romeo after A.L.F.A. brand. Giuseppe Merosi took 40-60 HP model as basis to G1. Chassis was made longer and more stiffer. Biggest new thing in this car was brand new 6.3 L engine, which produced 70 bhp. G1 was used also in motorsport and it won its own class at Coppa de Garda. Petrol prices were rising and it was hard to sell a car with such a big engine, so total production was only 52 copies. At this moment only one copy exists at New Zealand's Alfa Importer.

Alfa Romeo G2 was introduced in 1923, it was developed from G1. The chassis was made lighter and smaller but the car could not sell any better than G1. G2 was made only 100 copies.
